Our Goals

The Charlestown Lacrosse Learning Center provides participants, and their parents, with supportive, enriching, and inspiring educational programming. The Learning Center programs strive to enhance intellectual curiosity, support and inspire academic progress, and motivate participants to set and pursue challenging academic and career goals. In pursuit of these goals, participants learn what it means to live in and contribute to a healthy, safe, and viable community. As they take ownership of their learning and their community, they become responsible citizens of Charlestown.

Our Program - Exploring the Community

In this co-ed program for grades 3 and 4, the children meet once a week to explore Charlestown and communicate their findings in fun and creative ways. This year’s class decided to research the history of Charlestown. Together the class went on fieldtrips to the Bunker Hill Monument, the USS Constitution, the Warren Tavern and a variety of other historical sites in Charlestown. Using engaging community service activities led by knowledgeable adults, this program focuses on exploration, communication, and service, which are the foundation for academics and citizenship.
