Learn-to-knit workshops!

Tired of scrolling on your phone? Want something fun and creative to do with your hands and mind? Knitting is making a comeback, with a new, young generation of knitters and designers. It's a fun craft and wonderfully portable hobby that you can whip out just about anywhere! Together with instructors from Knitly, students will learn the basics of knitting with a cowl project, grow their skills progressively with a beanie and mittens, and finally be unleashed into the greater knitting world to make whatever their heart desires.

Aside from scratching that crafty itch, a growing body of research is showing the effectiveness of knitting as a wellness tool, helping students and workers step back, focus, and re-energize - proving to be a wonderful stress-busting activity to take throughout your life.

Knitly is a local small-business that has a unique focus on presenting not only the wonderfully engaging aspects of knitting itself, but also incorporating all its wonderful wellness features. Their roster of past clients include teams from Google, Twitter, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, McKinsey and Company, as well as many local public libraries and schools!

Outcome: At the end of the 10 week program, scholars will complete three take-home projects!

Cost of program includes ALL knitting materials!
